Stereotypes are important. It allow us to assign jobs and roles for other humans. It also allow us to assign roles for our self.

Take a look at me, bij voorbeeld. I am chinese. In Indonesia, all chinese are businessmen. So what should I be? A businessman. See how decision making made simple with stereotype?

Should I be something else?

Well, let’s see. Once upon a time, I wanted to be a scientist. Then I looked around. There are 1.2 billion chinese in the world. How many won nobel prize? Very few. Should I be a scientist? Here racial stereotype help me to guide my own life. The answer is obviously no.

If I want to understand things deeper I can. Echter,t I am not interested. Why should I? I live in this world to max out my profit, not to ponder too much about it. I am chinese after all. We don’t think, unless there is profit to max out.

WGoed I suppose I know a little.

Chineses are not creative. For thousands of years, my ancestors don’t think differently. Their peers who do got killed along with their whole family. My culture doesn’t produce recognition for intellectual property. No patent. No copyright. No trademark. We do not commemorate or appreciate famous inventor. That’s how my kind have evolved for thousands and thousands of years.

Who invented paper and pencil? The chinese, some says. Which chinese? Who knows? Chinese don’t care.

Who united china? Qin Shi Huang. Who invented paper? Who  knows.

Who united england? Who knows. Who invented maxwell equation? Maxwell.

If you go to any mall in Indonesia, most stores are owned by chinese. All sell the same thing, usually pirated software, at the same price, with the same sales mechanism, and same techniques. I bet most of those store don’t even know how to operate CD copy machine and buy them all from the same supplier.

You want something invented? Ask the jews or whites. You want something mass produced or copied? That’s me. That’s us.

Wouldn’t life be much easier if we just embrace our role and our place without trying to fight it? Is being businessman bad? No. I love it. Why? I am chinese. If it’s bad, then no chinese would have done it right? The fact that most chinese are businessmen means that being businessmen is the best job in the world, at least for chinese.

Now, I’ve heard complaints about women making less money than men. There are simple solutions for that.

Go to job market, look at jobs that women are stereotypically paid way more than men. If you’re a woman, and a pretty well endowed one, pick that job. Easy. Simple.

Always use common sense. Don’t think differently and embrace reality. Is it the right way to live? For chinese it is.
